Who Are We?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We are a not-for-profit organization. Under the IKO Nakamura banner, we try to bring together dojos with the same passion: to promote the teaching of Kyokushin karate by making it accessible to all, man, woman, child, of course, but also to people with physical or mental disabilities, and regardless of social status.
We are convinced of the benefits of daily martial art such as Kyokushin karate.<\/p>\n

Mission<\/h3>\n

Although our mission is to develop our territory by opening new centres (dojos) or by integrating existing centers into our federation, our first mission is to provide professional, structured and quality education, obviously in agreement and supervised by the parent company, Honbu, IKO Nakamura.<\/p>\n

Our vision is, through the learning and practice of Kyokushin karate, to forge the bodies and minds of our members and students, in order to make them citizens of the world, without prejudice or discrimination. Nakamura <\/strong> Kyokushin International<\/h2>\n

The International Kyokushin Karate Federation (KIK) is supervised by the organization IKO Nakamura (International Kyokushin Organisation Nakamura). Nakamura has been in existence in Japan for more than 40 years, with more than 600 dojos worldwide. In recent years, following strong demand, the organization has been forced to develop the international side by establishing itself in various countries, including Canada.<\/p>\n

Sosui Makoto Nakamura<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sosui Makoto Nakamura is head of the IKO Nakamura federation. Involved in martial arts from an early age, he had the privilege of training at the Honbu in Tokyo and was taught by Sosai Mas Oyama. He is the only one who has achieved the feat of being two-time world champion at the All Japan Tournament, in 1979 and 1984.<\/p>\n

He moved to Kobe in the early 1980s to promote Kyokushin karate in the region. Currently, IKO Nakamura manages more than 70 dojos in Japan and operates in more than 30 countries.<\/p>\n

NakaMURA<\/strong> Daihyo Masanaga<\/h2>\n

As president of IKO Nakamura, he manages the national operations of the entire organization and organizes seminars around the world to promote Kyokushin karate. Its mission is to make the link between the dojos of the organization and to share the techniques and knowledge necessary to teach Kyokushin karate. It is thanks to the many seminars he has given around the world that dojo directors can transmit quality traditional karate.<\/p>\n

SHIHAN TATS NAKAMURA<\/h3>\n

Shihan Tats Nakamura, international secretary of the IKO Nakamura federation, was born in Japan in 1967. He began karate at the age of 15 and obtained the rank of black belt in 1987. He was later appointed director of the Amagasaki dojo in Japan and this experience served as the basis for his teaching. In 1991 he immigrated to Canada and opened a new dojo in Vancouver in June 1992. He has been training in Kyokushin Karate for 34 years in the IKO and holds the rank of 7th dan. He shares his skills and experience with passion.<\/p>\n

SHIHAN PIERRE CATAFORD<\/h3>\n

Shihan Pierre Cataford, 6th dan, is the division head of the Kyokushin Nakamura International Karate Federation in Canada. During his career, he has trained with several world masters and world champions in Kyokushin karate, such as Andr\u00e9 Gilbert, Bobby Low, Akiyoshi Matsui, Kengi Midori, Katsuhito Gorai, Royama Hatsuo, Franscisco Filho, Emil Kostov, Gergana Kostova, Garry O’Neil and Hitoshi Kiyama. Shihan Pierre Cataford stands out for his technical knowledge and mastery of his Teaching of Kyokushin Karate.<\/p>\n

As part of our team, you will be affiliated with the international Karate kyokushinkai Nakamura (IKO) organization to obtain official certificates and belts from Japan. Your territory will be protected.<\/p>\n

You will also receive the complete syllabus of techniques taught according to the belt levels, an access to the federation website to view all the katas to be taught. You will also have access to continuous training by participating in development seminars for both students and dojo principals.<\/p>\n

Under the IKO Nakamura banner, we try to bring together dojos with the same passion: to promote the teaching of Kyokushin karate by making it accessible to all, man, woman, child, of course, but also to people with physical or mental disabilities, and regardless of social status.

Mission<\/h3>\n

Although our mission is to develop our territory by opening a new centre (dojo) or by integrating existing centres into our federation, our first mission is to provide professional, structured and quality education, obviously in agreement and supervised by the parent company, Honbu, IKO Nakamura.<\/p>\n

Kyokushin<\/h2>\n

The International Kyokushin Karate Federation (KIK) is supervised by the organization IKO Nakamura (International Kyokushin Organisation Nakamura). Nakamura has been in existence in Japan for more than 40 years, with more than 600 dojos worldwide. In recent years, following strong demand, the organization has been forced to develop the international side by establishing itself in various countries, including Canada.<\/p>\n

Sosui Makoto Nakamura<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sosui Makoto Nakamura is head of the IKO Nakamura federation. Involved in martial arts from an early age, he had the privilege of training at the Honbu in Tokyo and was taught by Sosai Mas Oyama. He is the only one who has achieved the feat of being two-time world champion at the All Japan Tournament, in 1979 and 1984.<\/p>\n

He moved to Kobe in the early 1980s to promote Kyokushin karate in the region. Currently, IKO Nakamura manages more than 70 dojos in Japan and operates in more than 30 countries.<\/p>\n

NakaMURA<\/strong> Daihyo Masanaga<\/h2>\n

As president of IKO Nakamura, he manages the national operations of the entire organization and organizes seminars around the world to promote Kyokushin karate. Its mission is to make the link between the dojos of the organization and to share the techniques and knowledge necessary to teach Kyokushin karate. SHIHAN TATS NAKAMURA<\/h3>\n

Shihan Tats Nakamura, international secretary of the IKO Nakamura federation, was born in Japan in 1967. He began karate at the age of 15 and obtained the rank of black belt in 1987. He was later appointed director of the Amagasaki dojo in Japan and this experience served as the basis for his teaching. In 1991 he immigrated to Canada and opened a new dojo in Vancouver in June 1992. He has been training in Kyokushin Karate for 34 years in the IKO and holds the rank of 7th dan. He shares his skills and experience with passion.<\/p>\n

Shihan Pierre Cataford, 6th dan, is the division head of the Kyokushin Nakamura International Karate Federation in Canada. During his career, he has trained with several world masters and world champions in Kyokushin karate, such as Andr\u00e9 Gilbert, Bobby Low, Akiyoshi Matsui, Kengi Midori, Katsuhito Gorai, Royama Hatsuo, Franscisco Filho, Emil Kostov, Gergana Kostova, Garry O’Neil and Hitoshi Kiyama. Shihan Pierre Cataford stands out for his technical knowledge and mastery of his Teaching of Kyokushin Karate.<\/p>\n
